Costs for Services
At the Behavioural Wellness Clinic, we understand that every client’s needs and circumstances are unique — and so are our fees. Because we offer a multidisciplinary team of professionals, the cost of a session will vary depending on the type of provider you choose. Licensed psychologists and prescribers bring the highest level of clinical training and typically have the most extensive experience, so their hourly rates reflect that advanced expertise. Registered clinical counsellors, social workers, and provisional or master’s‑level clinicians offer high‑quality care at a different rate. When you book your first appointment, our reception team will gladly review the profiles of available providers and outline their respective fee structures so that you can make an informed choice.
Within each discipline, fees may also vary according to experience and specialization. For example, clinicians who have completed specialized training in areas such as trauma‑focused therapy, exposure and response prevention (ERP), or psychedelic‑assisted therapy may have a different rate than clinicians whose practices focus on general counselling. Similarly, clinicians who have been in independent practice for many years often have fees that reflect their accumulated expertise, while those newer to practice may offer more accessible rates as they build their caseload. Wherever you land on your journey — whether it’s your very first visit to a therapist or you’re seeking highly specialized support — our goal is to ensure transparency around costs so you can plan accordingly.
The type of service you receive also influences the overall cost. Initial assessments and comprehensive psychological testing sessions require more time (often 90 to 120 minutes) and specialized scoring and report‑writing, which are priced differently than a standard 50‑ or 60‑minute therapy appointment. Group workshops, family sessions, and intake consultations with multiple providers are likewise structured with their own fee schedules. If you are interested in shorter check‑in visits, medication management appointments, or phone/video consultations, we maintain a separate, clearly defined list of fees for these service options.
Your Insurance May Cover Treatment
Our services are not covered by OHIP, but most clients are able to submit receipts for direct reimbursement through their health insurance plans, employee assistance programs, or extended benefits. We provide detailed invoices that list your provider’s credentials, the service date, and the duration of the session to help facilitate any claims you wish to file. If you have questions about payment methods, sliding‑scale options, or insurance coverage, don't hesitate to reach out—our administrative team is here to support you in finding the best fit for your therapeutic goals and budget.
If you are interested in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP), you may be able to get treatment for a reduced fee with our partners at Field Trip. Call us to learn more.
